Medium: Textile
Levels: All Levels

This workshop throws all the rules of stringent design out the window. First you construct “units” by exploring machine techniques for texture and shape. Then you add color and depth with paint and other mediums. Finally, the “units” are assembled into one fabulous piece. You will find working in collage style easy and liberating.

Subjects that work well for collage are anything that can be layered, such as fruit, vegetables, shells, baskets, flowers, and leaves. Start by choosing one of these patterns (available in class) and working through the process. Once the techniques are mastered, you can move on to your ideas for compsition, using the collage style.
