Natalie Sewell

An art quilter who specializes in landscape quilts, Natalie Sewell has been quilting for more than 13 years. Her favorite scenes depict woods and gardens in all seasons of the year. Natalie’s work has won major prizes at numerous national competitions including those sponsored by the American Quilter’s Society, Visions, and the National Quilters’ Association. She co-authored with Nancy Zieman (host of PBS’s Sewing with Nancy) three books, including Landscape Quilts and The Art of Landscape Quilting.

In this 3-day workshop Natalie teaches you how to create a unique landscape that reflects your own artistic definition of a favorite scene. This workshop requires no measuring, templates, or patterns. Starting with a favorite photo, you learn how to use fabric and scissors as your canvas and paintbrush. This workshop emphasizes design techniques, but includes tips for choosing borders and finishing your landscape quilt.

This is a creative experience with almost no rules. So plan to have fun and learn how to let yourself go artistically.
