Turn your favorite flower photo into a Fabulous Fusible Flower art quilt. Learn how to use fabric and thread like an artist uses paint and pencil to create a beautiful art quilt. Start with your own flower picture and learn how to break it down into simple shapes to make your own pattern. Look through the eyes of an artist are you learn techniques for picking the right color and values while developing your own creative style. Color is everything in building these flower quilts.

Next you learn how to finish your flower quilt using Melinda’s technique, Renegade Thread Play, which is a simple method of free motion quilting (don’t get nervous – we’ll do a sample project using this technique before you try it on your flowers.) This technique adds detail and highlights to your flower quilt. Create a Fabulous Fusible Flower wonder while you enjoy this class which is full of laughter and challenges.

Award-winning Quilt Artist Melinda Bula started out working in the interior design field designing wallpaper and fabric. Now she is designing beautiful quilts and wearable art. She has won numerous awards. Most recently, Best of Show, 2008 at Road To California. She has been featured in Quilters Newsletter Magazine and her first book came out in 2007, Cutting Garden Quilts published by Martingale Press. Melinda has been teaching her techniques for the last 6 years.
