True Source: Tapping into Your Inner Quilter

Books, articles, techniques, methods, materials, talk, tools, tips and teachers. You’ve heeded them all yet you still don’t know where to begin to find a style you can call you own. You might occasionally catch a fleeting glimpse of a universal truth in an artfully crafted phrase, an image or a quilt that draws you in or touches your soul.  What if you could plot a course that guided you to discover your own unique path to self expression?

In this class, you will become the explorer and your guide will be Lesley Riley, a teacher with over 10 years of experience helping others fulfill their creative dreams.  Your toolkit will include fabric, paints, dyes, stitch, image and the written world of quotes, prose and poetry, which you will use to inspire and create a series of small fabric expressions (quilted or not) that can become a part of or inspiration for a larger quilt or series.

There will be morning introspection, fun solo and group assignments, color and word play and many surprises. Design principles and elements as they apply to the quilted surface will be explored. Afternoons will be spent following the muse with individual guidance from the instructor. Work into the night or spend your evenings journaling the experience and recording the inspiration that is sure to arise. The class lasts 3 days, but the magic lasts a lifetime.
