Known for her use of color and her craftsmanship, Gabrielle Swain is a former theater professional who began quiltmaking in 1983. She has produced a series of 6 DVDs on quiltmaking and creativity.

In this workshop Gabrielle leads you through a series of exercises designed to help you discover new ways to design and develop a style. You discuss the basic principles of composition and design and then do exercises that apply to those principles. You also get to work with unusual media such as peltex for creating sculptural quilt constructions. Gabrielle shows you how to use collage and whole cloth painted work. You will keep a sketchbook of daily art experiences based upon a theme that Gabrielle introduces each day. All of the work is structured to help you find your voice through style or series work.

Please note that there is a $15 material fee per student paid directly to the instructor for the following supplies for use by the entire class:
