Improvisational Scrap Quilts

In this workshop, Carol will teach some simple piecing techniques and really free ways of creating patchwork designs. Learn to play with color and design without anxiety, and use all of those leftover scraps you’ve been saving. Well use strips, squares, wedgies, couching and fusing --- just to name a few of the methods you’ll get to try. All are fast and easy!

You’ll make 20-22 “components” during the first half of the class and leave with the ability to expand on those to create other new ideas.  Then in the 2^nd half of the class we will arrange your components, and add some more to design your own quilt.  It’s amazing to watch how each student puts their “components” together and everyone ends up with their own unique quilt!

Carol will also teach 12 free motion quilting patterns to allow you to finish your quilts with some new patterns, and talk about where to use which threads and why.

You will end up with ideas galore to make more quilts using these methods. Tired of that precise cutting and those exacting patterns? Then this is the class for you.
